MASC can assess or test the enclosure according to the most recent standard in order to issue a new IA certificate.
The repair work can be carried out by a permit holder, alternatively the repair work conducted must be evaluated by MASC.
The product OEM or supplier must supply a IA certificate with the equipment supplied.
MASC can perform inspections / audits according to the relevant standard requirements.
A flameproof assessment is typically concluded in between two to six weeks depending on whether environmental conditioning is a requirement. An IA certificate will be issued immediately after completion of the assessment provided that the unit conformed to the requirements of the flameproof standards.
A DIP assessment stresses the integrity of the sealing mechanisms utilised for ingress protection by subjecting the unit to environmental conditioning for a certain period. It is a requirement that Zone 20, 21 and 22 devices have a DIP rating and not just a IP rating.
An Intrinsic safety assessment is typically concluded in between four to six weeks depending on the availability of technical documentation. An IA certificate will be issued immediately after completion of the assessment provided that the unit conformed to the requirements of the intrinsic safety standards.
